We have just completed the second international workshops of our project. This time, all the participants (adult educators from Carozzone, Lorqui and Sanitas) gathered in Reggio Emillia. The host, Fondazione E-35, supported by their local partners, have prepared a programme filled with interesting visits to the local structures (associations, social centers, cooperatives,.. ) and enriching exchanges with divers actors of the city and the neighbourhood (stakeholders, social educators, animators, cultural mediators,…). The participants had a chance to discover Carozzone through projects implemented in the area and initiatives that engage in socio-ecological transition and multidimensional cooperation.

Two of the main objectives of the workshops were for the participants to deepen the knowledge and understanding of the narrative approach and to share local contexts and experiences. Our aim was to imagine, explore and plan practical application of the narrative approach in three involved neighbourhoods and beyond. Thus, training sequences were designed to allow the participants to source from the theoretical framework and the results of the researches (first phase) while highlighting the importance of their own professional perception of the methodology and its uses. During this week, the participants have been working individually and as a group, brainstorming within the local teams, expressing concerns, sharing ideas and exploring possible solutions with their peers from Italy, France and Spain.

The international workshops have been an important step in our common efforts to create a methodological guide. The outcomes of these activities constitute a fundamental contribution to its content and the structure.

This time of joint work and shared joy has been immensely inspiring and gave us the energy and motivation to pursue our common objectives.
